Kirsten McCaffery is a behavioural scientist and a Professorial Research Fellow at the School of Public Health, University of Sydney. She has an international reputation in the areas of health literacy, shared decision making and screening research. She leads the psychosocial research program within the Screening and Test Evaluation Program and is Co-Director and co-founder of the Centre for Medical Psychology and Evidence-based Decision Making (CeMPED). She established the Charles Perkins Centre International Health Literacy Research Network in 2013 which now has over 200 members worldwide. She has over 150 publications and 9 book chapters, and has been awarded over 40 research grants.
