Senior Professor Marie Ranson received her PhD from the University of Sydney then undertook postdoctoral studies at the National Cancer Institute, NIH, USA, before establishing a program of cancer research at Wollongong University as a tenured teaching and research academic in 1999. She is an internationally recognised cancer researcher with expertise in molecular biomarkers of cancer invasion and metastasis. By leveraging strong collaborative research links across academic, clinical, and industry partners, Snr Prof Ranson has also successfully commercialised preclinical discoveries into early-stage clinical applications.
