Sharon Kilbreath

Sharon Kilbreath received her physiotherapy undergraduate and master’s degrees in Canada, while her Ph.D. degree in neurophysiology was conferred from the University of New South Wales, Australia. She is a Professor in Physiotherapy, Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Sydney. Her research is directed at prevention of women’s physical impairments resulting from treatment of breast cancer, including shoulder dysfunction, lymphoedema, and osteoporosis as well as interventions for these impairments when they do arise. Over the past few years, her team has particularly focussed on development of evidence-based approach to the diagnose of lymphoedema and improved understanding of the physiological changes that occur with lymphoedema progression.
