Professor Wakefield is a medical psychologist whose work aims to improve outcomes for families affected by cancer across the lifespan. She is the Director of the Collaborate Against Cancer Initiative at Minderoo Foundation and a Professor at UNSW Sydney. Professor Wakefield is on the Board of Directors for the International Society for Paediatric Oncology and serves as Continental President of SIOP Oceania, advocating for children with cancer across 14 Oceania countries.
